Megan Delany

Senior Vice President & General Counsel

Megan Delany leads a broad portfolio of association and advocacy programs and projects for EMA. She is a government affairs industry veteran with more than twenty-five years of government relations experience representing clients before Congress, the Administration, and state and local entities. Prior to joining EMA, Megan was President of Delany Advisory Group, LLC, a full services government relations firm that provides strategic advice developing public policy positions and creative solutions for clients to successfully achieve policy objectives.

Megan began her career on the House Energy & Commerce Committee, where she generated an in-depth network of relationships that span Congress on both sides of the Capitol, within current and incoming Administrations, and throughout various regulatory agencies. She spent the next two decades of her career leading government affairs offices for multiple telecommunications companies, lobbying before the U.S. House and Senate and Administration and managing federal legislative and regulatory staff, outside law firms and consultants, and multiple industry trade association relationships. Immediately prior to founding Delany Advisory Group, she served as a member of both Dentons’ Public Policy and Regulation practice group as well as the Telecommunications and Media practice group for more than six years representing a breadth of clients, including Fortune 500 media and technology providers, national incumbent and competitive wireline and wireless carriers, nascent technology start-ups, tribally owned telecom companies, and global equipment manufacturers.

Megan has an excellent track record of helping her clients achieve federal objectives through innovative and persistent solutions and passionate advocacy. She has broad experience advising government, business and nonprofit leaders, and an extensive web of government and industry relationships that span business sectors and all levels of the government. Her rare blend of bipartisan and bicameral relationships, coupled with her historical and substantive knowledge and understanding of legislative and regulatory policy, sets her apart in the government affairs industry and provides her with the unique ability to cultivate congressional champions on both sides of the aisle to support her clients’ public policy positions.
